Recently, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) officially released the "Top 1% List of Highly Cited Scholars in Urban and Rural Planning and Urban and Rural Planning in 2025". This list serves as an authoritative indicator for measuring the academic influence of related disciplines in China, and selects top academic talents with strict selection criteria. Among them, Chen Keshi, a professor at Peking University and chief designer of Zhongying Urban Design Research Institute, has successfully entered the top 1% of highly cited scholars in urban and rural planning in China with his profound academic accumulation and abundant high impact achievements, demonstrating his top academic status and extensive industry influence in this field.

It is reported that the selection mechanism for highly cited scholars nationwide is highly authoritative and rigorous, with a comprehensive evaluation centered around the quality and influence of scholars' academic achievements in the past decade. CNKI calculated the total PCSI (Comprehensive Paper Evaluation Index) of the primary authors in the past decade and ranked them in descending order, selecting only the top 1% of scholars to enter the candidate list, further enhancing the value and timeliness of the list. On this basis, the selected scholars also need to meet two hard conditions: "publishing at least 5 papers with PCSI above average level in the past decade" and "publishing at least 1 high impact academic paper with academic essence". The dual screening ensures that the selected scholars' academic achievements have both quantity, scale, and high quality.

Professor Chen Keshi's inclusion in the top 1% of the academic field is a strong testament to his high-quality academic achievements and widely recognized academic ideas over the past decade. As a senior scholar in the field of urban and rural planning, he has been deeply involved in urban design, historical and cultural city protection, and has constructed an academic system that combines theoretical depth and practical value. His core theories such as "Green New Countryside City" and "Urban Humanism" provide important support for theoretical innovation in the discipline; His published papers closely follow national strategies and industry frontiers, focusing on major practical issues such as post disaster reconstruction and ancient town revitalization. Many of his achievements have been selected for high impact lists, and he has also authored multiple academic monographs, further consolidating his academic discourse power in the field of disciplines.

Professor Chen Keshi's academic influence is not only reflected in theoretical research, but also deeply integrated into major planning practices. As the chief designer of Wenchuan Shuimo Town, the "best global example of post disaster reconstruction" selected by the United Nations, the chief architect of the only Zhuhai Opera House "Sun Moon Shell" built on the sea in China, and the chief designer of benchmark projects such as Lulang International Tourism Town in Xizang and Mount Huangshan Calligraphy and Painting Town in Anhui, he has continued to translate academic research results into practical planning schemes, and has achieved remarkable results in protecting regional culture and promoting the construction of ecological and livable cities.

Instead, it forges an integrated space out of an entire plot of land that functions both as an industrial powerhouse and a top-tier urban park. Today, we bring this vision to the banks of the Pearl River, embodied in Water Rhythm, a grand landscape painting of the Pearl River.
