Over the past few months, the fierce PK of three design schemes, such as "Rose dolphin", "music Ark" and "Moon Scallop", has also become a hot topic among Zhuhai people. The "Moon Scallop" scheme finally won and was determined as the implementation scheme. Yesterday, Professor Chen Keshi, the host designer and famous scholar of the scheme, visited the Zhuhai culture lecture hall and talked freely about the design concept of European and American coastal cities and Its Enlightenment to Zhuhai for Zhuhai citizens. In an exclusive interview with this newspaper's culture weekly, he said that Zhuhai opera house may become a classic building.

Culture weekly: what suggestions do you have for Zhuhai urban planning and design?

Chen Keshi: in recent years, Zhuhai has changed a lot, but it has always put the natural environment first, which is very rare. Many cities focus on GDP. As a result, the ecology is irreparable and the future of sustainable development is ruined. I think Zhuhai can become a "Modern Venice" and build a green city with sustainable development with water as the theme.

Culture weekly: what are the indicators of green cities?

Chen Keshi: in addition to economic, environmental and cultural factors, green city has four very important factors: first, green city must be a city with sustainable development; Second, it must be a city of energy conservation and emission reduction; Third, it must be a leading city in new energy and new technology; Fourth, green city is a city with outstanding performance in complete urban form and beautiful landscape. For example, Venice in Italy has a complete urban form, while Paris pays attention to new town planning, and landscape planning precedes architectural design. At present, many urban forms and architectural styles are chaotic. For example, local buildings on the waterfront need light and cold colors, while coastal cities in China have all kinds of colors.

At present, Hengqin Island, which has attracted much attention, is a piece of white paper. It is a prominent peninsula. Its own conditions are very good, which has played an extra role in building Zhuhai into a water city like Venice. I hope to participate in the planning of Hengqin Island.


I hope Tangjiawan town will "revive" like Luodai

Culture weekly: in recent years, you have three urban planning and design works widely praised. One is the planning of Luodai Ancient Town in Chengdu, which won the "most innovative planning and Design Award"; The second is the planning of Shuimo town as Wenchuan new town; The third is the design scheme of Zhuhai opera house project. How about a brief introduction?

Chen Keshi: the planning and design concept of Luodai Ancient Town is to revive the ancient town, decorate the newly built concrete buildings into wood, renovate the wood buildings, and adopt stone on the ground. After we spent five months building one street and seven lanes, it has a great impact. Luodai Ancient Town has also been rated as 4A scenic spot, attracting many tourists. I hope Tangjiawan town in Zhuhai can be "revived" like Luodai Ancient Town.

In fact, the foundation of Tangjiawan Biluo belt is good. If Huitong village was built in the same period, it can be seen from the construction that the economy of the village was particularly good at that time. The bricks were grinded into each other, and the bricks were almost seamless. Its fine workmanship was almost the same as that of the Forbidden City. You know, this kind of craft is usually found in royal buildings in Beijing. This specification is very high. In addition, many stone materials built in Huitong village are not locally produced, which is very rare. How to plan and design Huitong ancient village? To find the right entry point, I think this entry point is leisure vacation. We can build the largest Village Resort Hotel, adopt the Bali model, combine modernity and tradition here, and provide people with such a living environment: it is historical in vision and modern in experience.

The planning of Wenchuan new town is still a little predestined with Zhuhai. In the recent post disaster reconstruction planning evaluation, the planning of Shuimo town aided by Foshan and the planning of mianrou town aided by Zhuhai got a very strong PK. Finally, mianrou won the first prize of overall planning, and Shuimo town won the first prize of urban design and architectural design.

Another project I won't say is Zhuhai opera house, which we all know. This project has attracted masters like Andrew, the designer of the bird's nest and the Chinese opera house. As a local designer in China, it is an honor for me to compete with it and win the bid.

Culture weekly: how was the winning design scheme of Zhuhai Opera House "Moon Scallop" designed?

Chen Keshi: This design process is very interesting. I once went shopping in Hong Kong and saw an ashtray made of shellfish. It was very beautiful, so I bought it and put it on the table. Then I called the architect and said that we should make Zhuhai opera house into a shell, for example, set it up, so I set up the ashtray, and the design began. I should give that ashtray to Zhuhai, because this is the first idea. The shape of the computer composition is completely the shell of my ashtray, not the Moon Scallop, because the Moon Scallop is too round.

Culture weekly: what are the characteristics of Zhuhai opera house?

Chen Keshi: Zhuhai's evaluation of our scheme is particularly accurate. There are nine words: originality, artistry and regionality. It is difficult to have these three characteristics at the same time. Just like the Guangzhou Opera House, it can be placed in Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing, without regionality. The Moon Scallop is produced in the Pearl River Estuary, and the pearl is born in the shell, which is very suitable for Zhuhai, and the beauty God Venus is born from the shell in the sea, which is a very beautiful artistic conception. In terms of function, the opera house has special opera house, concert hall and multi-function hall, which is very accurate. Unlike many opera houses in China, the function is chaotic, which affects the sound effect. The LED screen outside has more than 2000 square meters, which is the largest in the world. In the future, when performing inside, the outside can also display the performance scene at the same time. In fact, my design theory is very simple. Hegel said that "the image is the most easily accepted by the public", just like the bird's nest and the water cube.

Chen Keshi: Zhuhai opera house is the only opera house built on the sea. It is also the second opera house with a bay background after Sydney Opera House.

95% of the world's opera houses are not well-known. There are only ten famous opera houses, the most famous of which is the Sydney Opera House. I hope Zhuhai opera house will become not only the best opera house in the Pearl River Delta, the best opera house in China, but also the best opera house in the world. In fact, Zhuhai is not eager for quick success and instant benefit, but idle Yeli island. The opera house has been half successful. Academician Li daozeng of the Chinese Academy of Engineering commented that Zhuhai opera house is the second largest opera house in Sydney. Peking University also attaches great importance to this project and believes that its significance is equivalent to winning a national key project. The wall of Sydney Opera House is not very complete, Zhuhai opera house will be very complete, and our lighting designer wants to find something better than Sydney Opera House. Next week, we want to go to Melbourne to discuss with the designer of water cube and ask him to be our consultant. This designer is very famous in the modeling of ecological architecture all over the world.
