On the morning of December 1, Comrade Wang Yang, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Guangdong provincial Party committee, inspected Shuimo town in Wenchuan new city, which was built with the assistance of Foshan City, Guangdong Province. After listening to the work report of Shuimo Town, Secretary Wang Yang said to Professor Chen Keshi of Peking University present: "the quality of planning and design is very important, and you must have good design ideas. Your planning and design are very good, and you will leave your name in history.".

The overall urban design of Shuimo town in Wenchuan new town completed by China Urban Design Research Center of Peking University won the first prize of urban design in the "selection of excellent planning and design for post Wenchuan reconstruction"; The architectural design of Wenchuan No. 2 middle school jointly completed by CR Design Institute and China Southwest Architectural Design and research institute won the first prize in architecture.
Chen Keshi presented to Secretary Wang Yang and secretary Liu Qibao the book "Wenchuan green new city - Urban Design and architectural design for post disaster recovery and reconstruction of Shuimo Town, Wenchuan", a series of urban design books of Peking University published by Peking University Press.
At the end of the visit, Secretary Wang Yang called together the secretaries of 13 cities in Guangdong Province and said, "I haven't seen such a good project in Guangdong. When you go back to each city, you should make a beautiful new city like Shuimo town.".
