The architecture and architectural art of Xizang's traditional folk houses are an important part of Xizang's great traditional architectural culture. In the process of the formation of the regional architectural culture for thousands of years, they reflect the special style of Xizang's natural geography and the great tradition of human geography in architecture, as well as the pursuit and beauty of Tibetan ancestors for architectural art. From the overall perspective of global architectural art, Xizang architecture has a unique position in the global architectural art. Over the course of thousands of years, countless predecessors have independently created the unique traditional residential architectural style of the Tibetan people. This special architectural style should continue to be passed down and has great value for the continuation of national culture, enriching the diversity of world architectural art, and the future development of tourism in Tibetan areas.

As the first two volumes of the series, "Naidong District" and "Bayi District" respectively proposed 14 typical new model house design schemes for traditional residential buildings, and proposed corresponding improvement design schemes for the exterior facade, plan, and section of the buildings. At the same time, the materials and styles of the building appearance, especially the eaves, doors and windows, and exterior walls, have been standardized; It also provides design samples for the interior and courtyard of buildings, including furniture, lighting, signage, and plant and floral designs. The guidelines also propose topics such as steel wood structure, rammed earth wall structure, underfloor heating, sewage treatment, and sunroom, providing new guidance for the modernization of traditional residential buildings.

The Design Guidelines for Traditional Residential Buildings in Xizang will be published in the form of a series of books. The ideal situation should be to have one copy for each person, and the large amount of graphic and textual materials contained in the guidelines should be used as legal documents, becoming important reference materials for the construction and renovation of traditional residential buildings, and regulating the entire construction process of traditional residential buildings. At the same time, it is also hoped that Tibetan residents can be guided to love their traditional culture and architectural art, and under the guidance of the guidance, they can maintain the tradition and architectural art of folk houses, and make efforts to make Xizang's folk houses and villages more sustainable and beautiful in the future.
