The series of Guidelines for the Design of Traditional Features of Xizang Architecture was compiled under the guidance of the municipal and county housing construction departments in Shannan City, Linzhi City and other regions, and systematically expounded the traditional architecture of Xizang. Based on the field survey of traditional buildings in different regions of Xizang and the relevant European experience, the series summarizes and standardizes the artistic elements of traditional buildings in Xizang, which is highly professional and scientific.

The Guidelines deeply analyzes Xizang's traditional architectural art from the perspective of contemporary aesthetics, and strictly regulates the material selection and style composition of key parts such as exterior walls, eaves, doors and windows. At the same time, it provides a comprehensive and detailed reference for traditional indoor space and courtyard design, covering furniture, lighting, signs, plants and flowers, and can be called the authoritative dictionary of Xizang's traditional architectural language. As a key project supported by the Xizang Autonomous Region Department of Housing and Urban Rural Development, the compilation and publication of the "Guidelines" series will provide theoretical support and practical guidance for the inheritance and protection of Xizang's traditional architectural art, and is of great significance for promoting the contemporary development of Xizang's traditional architectural culture.
