The floor area ratio is 0.7, Built on a sloping hillside, the architecture adopts a dynamic and fluid form to interpret the surging momentum of the Yarlung Tsangpo River. It features a rooftop garden and panoramic viewing spaces, making it the best vantage point in Medog overlooking the river. The interior spaces are arranged around courtyards, balancing functionality and playfulness.
The museum is fully functional, divided into five major sectors: exhibition and display, performance and experience, conference and exchange, research and education, and supporting services. It houses three thematic exhibition areas: Geography and Geology, Life Exploration, and Hydropower on the Yarlung Tsangpo River.
