Huangshan Chinese painting and calligraphy town

Huangshan Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Town is located in Yi County in Huangshan City, Anhui Province, near Hongcun Village in the northeast and Xidi Ancient Village in the southeast. Fuxian is not only one of the birthplaces of “Hui merchants” and “Hui culture”, but also a famous historical and cultural city in Anhui Province. There are a large number of Ming and Qing residences, ancestral temples, archways, gardens, and the world cultural heritage the Xidi, Hongcun ancient villages. Fuxian county is also known as “the village in Chinese painting” and “the living area of Taohuayuan”. Xidi and Hongcun were selected into the world cultural heritage list in 2000.
In the modern interpretation of Huangshan Chinese painting and calligraphy Town, Prof. Chen Keshi pays attention to the study of regional characteristics, takes the traditional Huizhou town as the template, continues the organic traditional spatial texture, the spatial sequence of transition and pleasant street scale, organizes the overall planning layout with the traditional courtyard based unit module, and realizes the cultural atmosphere, local elements and the integration of modern style.
The design plan takes calligraphy and painting trade as an opportunity, integrates the regional calligraphy and painting industry, inherits the unique culture of Huizhou architecture, and builds this town into a well-known domestic cultural tourism town with the calligraphy and painting trade as the main business, and integrates high-end hotels, painting and calligraphy creation, painting and calligraphy exhibition, catering and entertainment. According to different functions and planning conditions, the town is divided into four areas: hotel and painting exhibition area, painting and calligraphy trading area, waterfront business area and master workshop area.
Based on inheriting the local traditional architecture, the main building of this town is interpreted to reflect the modern Huizhou style. The architecture in the small town takes the courtyard as the architectural form to build a regional Hui style courtyard with painting and calligraphy creation as the carrier. The shape of the houses in southern Anhui is a square body with high white walls on the outside. Inner houses are arranged around all of them are built on more than two floors. The roof inclines to the courtyard, generates the form of “four water return to the hall”. At the upper end of the wall, horse head structures are falling in layers. The white wall and black tile form a significant color contrast. With the modern building materials, the simple and elegant color of the green tile, whitewall and horsehead wall of the Hui style architecture can be restored.
The appearance of the hotel and the calligraphy and painting exhibition hall is simple, humble and peaceful. The facade is composed of the whole wood color aluminum frame and the white wall. At the same time, in terms of layout, it echoes the characteristics of Hui style houses and forms the inner courtyard. The whole hotel has 151 guest rooms with clear dynamic and static zones, reasonable functions and five-star hotel rating standards. The facade of calligraphy and painting exhibition hall is composed of steel frames and glass with a strong sense of design. Compared with the hotel, it can accommodate 400 people to visit at the same time.
