Evergrande Lulang International Hotel

Evergrande international hotel in the central area of Lulang Town, with a total construction area of 17230 m, is positioned as a five-star leisure resort hotel. It is located in the core area in central zone along the lake, overlooking the snow mountain in the distance and near the lake, with a perfect natural landscape. Evergrande hotel consists of the main building and courtyard style guest rooms. After various investigations, to adapt the main building to the existing terrain and echo the tradition, the design team constructed the body into a variety of combinations, and formed the axis relationship between its design and the performing center, the central square of the flower street, and the landscape archway of the lake. In the design process of the main building, in order to reflect the regionality, the form of the general five-star hotel's large ramp and canopy is not adopted, but the exquisite Tibetan wooden stairs replaces the canopy design of the main entrance. The typical public buildings in Tibet require visitors to walk a flight of stairs to enter the main building. Culture means that the process of climbing stairs is also the process of spiritual purification. The purpose of Prof. Chen Keshi and his team's design is to let visitors experience the charm of Tibetan architecture from the moment they enter the hotel.

Through the transition of the square, visitors come to the entrance platform of the main building, and enter the main building from the regional Tibetan wooden stairs. The first floor is mainly composed of the lobby and public parts. The lobby is designed as a tower like building with a traditional four slope roof, which is the spiritual symbol of the main building. Through the use of light, the light and shadow in the room interact directly with space, creating a mysterious and peaceful atmosphere. At the other end, the all-day dining room occupies the landscape along the lake of the building. The large area of the glass curtain wall is designed to ensure the visibility of the view. Overlooking the snow mountains and close to the lake, the bright and pleasant atmosphere arises spontaneously. The hydrophilic platform is designed outside the dining room, so that the tourists who are interested in playing in the water can have close contact with nature. The top floor of the building is designed as a characteristic dining room, in addition to the characteristic scenery Outside the view, the snow mountains and lakes outside the window give people peace and serenity. The diversified treatment of vertical traffic is also a major feature of the main building. Through the Tibetan stairs, the viewing platforms of different floors are connected with each other, so that visitors can experience the charm of the building from different levels.

The building adapts to the existing site and emphasizes regional characteristics. Courtyard style guest rooms are arranged along the lake in groups. Each group adopts the enclosed layout of the front hall and the backyard and constructs a variety of form combinations consistent with the main building. The rooms are arranged centripetally around the courtyard on different levels, with the emphasis on privacy inside and the introduction of the landscape outside. Inside the building, after the transition of the entrance hall, it enters the main body of the building. The design idea of the design team for the traditional courtyard space is to make the courtyard become the exchange place of the internal and external space, and also the spiritual space of the unity of man and nature. At night, this courtyard is also a place for activities and gatherings. With moving music and warm bonfires, you can experience different Tibetan customs.

The design concept of Evergrande hotel is "regional, artistic and integrated", which is also the core design concept of Pro. Prof. Chen Keshi and his team. In order to make the scheme more local, there are strict requirements in building material selection, and the construction of wall and roof structures.

In terms of the use of building wall materials, i to reflect the regional nature and echo the local tradition, Evergrande hotel adopt the local natural stone for the wall masonry, with unlimited color. The stone is a natural edge, which is not cut by machine. First, the size of the stone is matched with the masonry, and then the whole stone surface is plastered with white cement (mixed with putty powder, glue and white cement), and finally painted with white color exterior wall paint, through the control of the above details and the guidance of site construction, the final effect of the hotel wall is guaranteed, and the unique massiness of stone wall and the rough atmosphere of Tibetan architecture are fully reflected.

The hotel facade also uses a lot of local traditional materials - wood. After investigation and research, the design team found that the similar wood-like coating completely failed to meet the design requirements, and the door head decorative components are the ablest to reflect the details and show the characteristics of Tibet, so the design scheme insisted on using wood, and the wood-like coating is prohibited. Wood is also preferred for door and window frames, and plastic steel is strictly prohibited. The use of traditional materials ensures the regional characteristics are preserved.
