In May 2005, entrusted by Luodai Ancient Town in Chengdu, China urban design and research center of Peking University and Hong Kong Zhongying urban and architectural design center completed the overall design scheme for the renovation and revitalization of Luodai Ancient Town. The scheme includes town tourism planning, overall urban design, regulatory detailed planning, urban form design and architectural engineering guidelines of ancient towns, street and square design, and main building design of wood structure. The concept and method of European ancient town design and revival are also used for reference in the scheme design. In the five months after the completion of the scheme, China urban design and research center of Peking University and Hong Kong Zhongying urban and architectural design center participated in the implementation of the project as general consultants. This book truly describes the whole process of the reconstruction project of Luodai Ancient Town from planning, design to the end of the project, and selects some from tens of thousands of photos to show the changes of the ancient town in 150 days. This book will provide useful experience for the ongoing ancient town design and rehabilitation project in China.
